This competition is open to AIMHCNZ registered horses who have been entered into Hi-Points.
All horses that have entered Hi-Points and compete in performance classes are automatically entered and awarded points throughout the show season. The owner must be a member of an affiliated club. There is no additional entry fee and it is a National Club Competition as well as an Individual Competition.
Horses must be 2 years of actual age or older.

Overall Club team winners – 1st place $200, 2nd place $100, 3rd place $50.
Overall North Island Individual winner – $100 plus a horse cover

For Cat.C Placings will be combined points from Trail, Hunter, Harness or Long Reining Classes
Gold Coins will be awarded for Champion Performance and Silver Coins for Reserve Champion Performance for all sections, Certificates for placings
For the club challenge, the best 3 placings from each club in each performance discipline counted will be put forward from each qualifying show. Horses for the Club Challenge must be nominated on the Club membership form you choose to compete for. You can represent one club only. This cannot be changed in one season unless the horse is sold, or leased to someone else, then the new owner or lessee will be able to nominate a new club.
Irrespective of the number of shows that you enter, your points will be counted from your top 5 Shows.
- The horse owner or lessee must be a member of an AIMHCNZ affiliated club to qualify for points.
- For a horse owned by a Syndicate to qualify for points, the Syndicate must be a member of an AIMHCNZ Affiliated Club.
- For a horse owned jointly by two or more parties to qualify for points, all the owners must be members of an AIMHCNZ Affiliated Club.
- All points will be awarded in the horse owner’s name.
- Where a horse is leased, a lease document must be lodged with the AIMHCNZ Registrar for the points to be awarded in the leasees name.
- The AIMHCNZ NI or SI Extravaganza show and all other AIMHCNZ Inc Affiliated Club shows that are approved as Hi-Point shows, (HP), count towards this competition.
Points are scaled as follows:
1 Horse in the class – 1st = 2 Points
2 Horses in the class – 1st = 4 points, 2nd = 2 point
3 Horses in the class – 1st = 6 points, 2nd = 4 points, 3rd = 2 point
4 Horses or more in the class – 1st = 8 points, 2nd = 6 points, 3rd = 4 points, 4th = 2 points
Points earned at an approved AIMHCNZ NI or SI Extravaganza Show is rated x 2 points; Club Title Shows rated x 1.5; all other shows are rated 1, unless otherwise notified by AIMHCNZ.
*The best 5 hi point shows over the season will count, but only 1 show at a rating of 2 points.
Ties are subject to a count back. Order of placings is decided by number of first places etc. Where there is no way to separate the horses on points, a tied place will be awarded.
If a horse if found to have competed in the wrong class, e.g Novice instead of Open, said horse will lose all points for that season. It is the owners responsibility to ensure their horse is in the correct class.
Classes to count:
- Harness Pleasure Driving Or Roadster – Novice and open, not Youth classes.
- Long reining – Novice and open, not Youth classes.
- Trail – Introductory, Novice and open, not Youth classes.
- Hunter/Jumper – Introductory, Novice and open. Does not include combined* classes or Youth/Masters/Mens classes.
Fault and out, 4 bar, cones, dressage or any other classes deemed as novelty by the Hi-Point committee will not be counted.
